What is Kojic Acid Dipalmitate?
Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is a lipid-soluble ester of kojic acid, known for its superior stability and gentle action on the skin. It works by inhibiting melanin production, effectively reducing dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. Unlike traditional kojic acid, it is less irritating and more stable, making it ideal for long-term use in skincare formulations.

Key Benefits
Brightens Skin Tone: Fades dark spots, age spots, sun damage, and hyperpigmentation for a more even complexion.

Gentle & Non-Irritating: Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin, with minimal risk of irritation.

Antioxidant Properties: Protects the skin from free radical damage and environmental stressors.

Improves Skin Texture: Promotes a smoother, more refined skin surface.

Stable & Long-Lasting: Resists oxidation and degradation, ensuring consistent performance in formulations.

Why Choose Our Kojic Dipalmitate Powder?

High Purity: It is meticulously sourced and tested to ensure the highest quality and efficacy.
Versatile & Easy to Use: Compatible with a wide range of skincare formulations, from serums to creams.

FORMULATION GUIDE

  • Add it to the heated oil phase with Isopropyl Myristate (IPM) or Isopropyl Palmitate (IPP) into the oil phase.
  • Keep the oil phase at 80 C for five minutes until it dissolves completely
  • Add this mixture to the water phase for emulsification at the same temperature for 10 minutes.

  • kojic dipalmitate powder separating in lotion
Kojic Dipalmitate (KAD) powder frequently separates, crystallizes, or creates gritty, white residue in lotions because it is oil-soluble, not water-soluble.

  •  When added directly to an emulsion or added to cold oil, it fails to dissolve properly, causing it to precipitate out as the cream cools.
Here is how to resolve the separation and ensure a smooth, stable emulsion based on expert formulation guidelines:

Proper Dissolution Method (Crucial)                                                                         Do not add KAD powder directly to the water phase or a finished lotion base. Dissolve in Oil Phase: Add KAD powder to the oil phase of your formula.
Heat to 80°C (176°F): Heat the oil + KAD mixture using a double boiler to at least 80°C to ensure the powder is fully dissolved and becomes clear.

    Hold the Heat:

  • Maintain the heat (about 60–80°C) for 5-10 minutes to ensure full dissolution before combining with the water phase.

  •  Prevent Recrystallization
Even if it dissolves when hot, KAD can form crystals when the lotion cools.
Use Solvent Oils: Incorporate Isopropyl Myristate (IPM) or Isopropyl Palmitate (IPP) into the oil phase.
These solvents are highly effective at holding KAD in solution.
Usage Rate: Use KAD at a 1–5% concentration.

     Emulsification Process
High Shear: Use an immersion blender (stick blender) to ensure the oil phase (containing the dissolved KAD) emulsifies thoroughly with the water phase for at least 10 minutes

  • Caution:

Always perform a patch test before incorporating new ingredients into your formulations.
    For external use only.

Avoid using it on sensitive or broken skin.
